Terms of Service
The short version
- Vasooly helps you track who has paid. It doesn't move, hold or guarantee any money.
- Payments happen in your own UPI app, between your bank and the organizer's bank.
- "Paid" in Vasooly means someone said so or the organizer marked it, so always check your UPI app or bank.
- Check the name your UPI app shows before paying. Vasooly never asks for your PIN or OTP.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Vasooly Private Limited, A2-145 Asmita Jyoti CHS, Malad, Mumbai 400095, India ("we", "us") for using the Vasooly app and the Vasooly web pages (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.
2. What Vasooly does
Vasooly lets an organizer split an amount among friends, share a payment link with each payer, and keep track of who has paid. Payers open the link, see their share, and pay the organizer directly from their own payment app: over UPI by tapping Pay, scanning a QR code or copying the UPI ID, or outside India with a service such as Venmo, PayPal or Pix. Organizers can also set up groups that automatically raise a collection on a schedule, such as rent on the 1st.
Smart entry
Text, voice and bill photos produce an editable expense preview. Recognition can make mistakes; check the amount, currency, people, payer and shares before saving. Receipt item ownership is not automatically known: review the assignments. Vasooly does not send reminders, transfer money or verify payments in response to arbitrary typed instructions.
3. What Vasooly is not
- Vasooly is not a bank, wallet, payment aggregator or payment service. We never receive, hold, move or settle money, and we're not a party to any payment.
- We can't see, confirm, reverse or refund payments. Failed, duplicate, wrong or disputed payments must be resolved between the payer, the organizer and their banks or UPI apps.
- Payment statuses in Vasooly are self-reported: "says paid" means the payer tapped "I've paid", and "settled", "partial" or "covered" mean the organizer recorded it. They're a convenience, not proof of payment.
4. If you're an organizer
- You must be 18 or older. You can start as a guest; if you sign in, use your own Apple ID.
- Only add UPI IDs and payment handles that belong to you, and keep them correct. Payers will pay whatever you show them.
- Only add people you know, and only with their names and phone numbers they'd expect you to use for this. Share each link only with the people it's for.
- Use Vasooly for splitting real costs among people you know. Don't use it for a business, for collecting money from the public, for anything illegal, or to mislead or harass anyone.
- You're responsible for the collections you create, including recurring ones, and for confirming payments in your own bank or UPI app before marking someone as paid.
- Keep access to your device and account secure.
5. If you're a payer
- You don't need an account. Your link shows only your collection.
- Before paying, check that the name your UPI app shows is the person you expect. If it isn't, don't pay; contact the organizer.
- Vasooly will never ask for your UPI PIN, OTP, card or bank details. Never share them with anyone.
- Only tap "I've paid" after you've actually paid.
6. The Service
Vasooly is currently free. We may change, add or remove features, or stop the Service, and will try to give reasonable notice of major changes. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.
You can stop using Vasooly at any time, and organizers can delete their account from the app, which deletes their data as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Liability
The Service is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss arising from payments made or not made between users, from incorrect UPI IDs or statuses entered by users, or from indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
8. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of India have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have as a consumer.
9. Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and tell organizers in the app about important changes. Questions? Write to taher@vasooly.com.
